I’m Tired

I hear this response A LOT from my coaching clients.  Regardless of position or profession, many of my clients enter coaching with me with a common lament: feeling tired.  I suspect that as you read this, you may also feel a similar response.

What is behind this fatigue?  Several factors might be considered.  However, I am increasingly seeing leaders working harder and harder to maintain their workload.  The answer is to stop working so hard and start working smarter!

Working smarter means utilizing the resources around you to accomplish tasks efficiently.  As leaders, we are not hired to do everything.  We are hired to make sure everything gets done.  That means we must use our staff and volunteers to respond to the work demands.

I hear this in response, “It is easier just to do it myself than to take time enlisting and training workers.”  Our job is to equip the saints! Our job as leader/manager is to build a team.  If you continue to “do it all” for everyone, then they will let you.  And, you will be stuck doing it all!

Delegate, delegate, delegate.  Train and equip your teams.  Work smarter!

Many other factors affect your fatigue.  Are you carrying too much anxiety, are you getting enough sleep, are you dealing appropriately with your anger, and are you having some fun away from work?  However, it begins by managing your workload and ensuring you involve others in the work.

If you are experiencing any of these factors, please give me a call.  Let’s talk and strategize.
