Matthew 5:11-12
Chuck Bugg reflects on the final Beatitude, which speaks about persecution for righteousness’ sake. He acknowledges the challenges of truly living out Jesus’ teachings, as standing firm in faith can sometimes lead to opposition. He shares a personal story about facing conflicts in church leadership, where disagreements arose over direction and decisions. Through this experience, he recognized his own mistakes and the difficulties that come with trying to lead with integrity.
Despite the hardships, he found a new path in teaching, which not only reignited his passion for sharing God’s word but also allowed him more time for family and personal reflection. Instead of seeing the conflicts as setbacks, he came to view them as opportunities for growth, learning, and spiritual deepening. In hindsight, he realizes that even in the midst of struggle, God was guiding him toward a better path. His message ultimately encourages others to remain faithful, even when facing challenges, and to trust that God can bring purpose and renewal out of difficult experiences.
